Graham

Graham Smith was born in Chatham in 1944 and has since lived in the Medway Towns. His sister introduced him to Janet in 1967 who already had connections with Twydall Evangelical Church and who subsequently became his wife in 1969. They have one daughter, Beverley, born in 1971 and two grandchildren, Freya born in 2003 and Fern in 2006.

Graham spent his working life - 40 years - with a construction company which specialised in pre-stressed concrete and steel fabrications, holding the position of Foreman for the last 15 years. Graham has been retired since 2007.

He became a Christian in 1984 following a Christian Evangelistic Crusade which was held in Gillingham, and subsequently became a member of Twydall Evangelical Church, being baptized together with Janet in June 1984.

He served the Church accepting the position of Deacon in 1985 which he held for many years. He is a Trustee and became an active Leader of Twydall Evangelical Church in 2008. He is also involved in the Health and Safety aspect of the Church and, amongst other things, controls the ordering and distribution of Christian books/magazines, and takes great joy in having the responsibility of baptizing new Christians, recently being aided by Mark Fillier.
